The Brooklyn Pediatric Society of the New York Chapter 2 of District 2 of the American Academy of Pediatrics was established in 1979.  We are a tax-exempt, non-profit organization representing Pediatricians and Pediatric health care professionals in Brooklyn, NY. Our yearly sessions are from July 1st to June 30th. Meetings are usually held at the Fort Hamilton Officer's Club, overlooking the beautiful Verrazano Bay and Bridge. Some  meetings may occasionally be  held at selected fine restaurants or other locations. Academic, Legislative & Practice related issues are discussed. Distinguished lecturers present   topics of interest. CME credits & great Dinners are provided at each of the Meetings. Networking, and  social interaction in addition to CME in a pleasant informal  atmosphere are great benefits of membership.  Funding is from membership fees and financial and material support from Sponsors. October  2007  -- "From newborn to Toddler: The Impact of DHA and ARA on Developmental Outcome", Michael J. Fitzgerald, M.D.,  Medical Director,  Attending Neonatologist, Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove, IL

March , 2008 -  Guest Speaker: Dr. Alan Fleischman, Senior Advisor to The New York Academy of Medicine and Clinical Professor of Pediatrics and Clinical Professor of Epidemiology and Population Health at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He is also Chairman of the Federal Advisory Committee and Ethics Advisor to the National Children's Study at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development in Washington, D.C.
